Brand identity, phase 2
Freelance graphic and brand design
Freelance design invoice template
Bill a milestone, out-of-scope revisions, and pass-through license costs on one clear invoice.
Fictional example. Replace every name, amount, and term with your own before sending.
Include on a freelance graphic and brand design invoice
- Project name and which milestone this invoice covers
- A reference to the proposal or agreement the fee comes from
- Revisions beyond the included rounds as a separate line
- Pass-through costs such as licenses, stock, or printing
- When final files and usage rights are delivered
- Deposit or earlier milestones already paid, if any
| Description | Qty | Rate | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Milestone 2: logo refinement and brand guidelines draft (fixed fee) | 1 | $2,400.00 | $2,400.00 |
| Additional revision round beyond the two included (hourly) | 3 | $95.00 | $285.00 |
| Desktop font license, one family, purchased for client | 1 | $89.00 | $89.00 |
NotesMilestone 2 of 3 per the signed proposal. Final files and transfer of usage rights are released when the project balance is paid. Font license is purchased in the client's name and passed through at cost.
A look at QuickDollar follow-up
A reminder that starts by checking with you.
Here’s an example of the overdue-invoice check and client text preview. It’s a demonstration—not a real conversation or delivery.
Example response
Sending reminders requires membership. A client text follows your explicit “still unpaid” confirmation; silence does not trigger one.
Invoice the milestone, not the hours
If you quoted a fixed fee, bill it as a fixed line tied to a named milestone. Listing hours under a fixed fee invites the client to audit your time.
Make extra revisions visible
Out-of-scope work is easier to collect when it appears as its own line with a short reason. If your proposal includes two revision rounds, say that the third is additional.
Keep pass-through costs separate
Fonts, stock images, and print runs belong on their own lines so the client sees they are buying an asset, not paying more for your design time.
Tie file delivery to payment
A short note that final files are released on payment is common practice and sets expectations without sounding like a threat. Make sure it matches what your agreement says.
