A friendly reminder from Harlow Advisory: invoice CONS-2026-07 for $3,885.04 is past due. Please check your invoice for payment details. If you’ve already paid, thank you!

Sending reminders requires membership. A client text follows your explicit “still unpaid” confirmation; silence does not trigger one.

01

Write for accounts payable

The person approving your invoice may never have met you. A service period, agreement date, and PO number let them match it without emailing you back.

02

Separate retainer from overage

A fixed retainer line and a separate hourly overage line make the base fee predictable and the extra work easy to approve.

03

Bill expenses at the rate you agreed

Mileage and travel should follow whatever your agreement specifies. The rate in this example is illustrative only; use your own agreed rate.

04

Expect longer terms

Larger companies often pay on Net 30 regardless of what you ask. Send on time, use a consistent numbering scheme, and follow up close to the due date rather than after it.
